The 32-year-old singer and her 36-year-old boyfriend, Benny Blanco, a music producer, have a happy relationship that began in June 2023.
She’s also thought back on how miserable her early years were, including being photographed by photographers when she was dating Justin Bieber.
In response to old footage of herself that was shared on social media, which showed her being photographed and posing with a fan, she spoke up about how she was feeling down at the time.
The caption for the video said, “I know and so do you that at the time she would never have gotten engaged to Benny (Blanco) (when) she was in her IT GIRL era.” The video was set to her ex Justin’s song Company.
The video also featured text stating that Selena’s previous self ‘would never date Benny Blanco.’
“Kinda makes me laugh because I was so depressed back then lol,” Selena responded.
After an eight-year relationship that ended in divorce in 2018, the singer married 27-year-old Hailey Bieber, with whom he is expecting his first child. Selena has not made any public remarks about their relationship.
In December, Selena expressed her admiration for Benny’s treatment of her online, writing, “He has treated me better than any human being on this planet.”
The performer stated to Time magazine that she is not “fazed” by her detractors’ “the most hurtful things.”
Benny gave her a jewel-encrusted necklace shaped like his first initial as a birthday present on her 32nd birthday.
In an Instagram picture, Selena displayed her $600 diamond-covered “B” necklace, a 14-karat gold necklace from the Los Angeles-based firm Baby Gold.
Benny made the following statement about the picture: “I got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain,” alluding to a line from Jay-Z’s song “Public Service Announcement.”

In an interview for the Twilio SIGNAL 2023 conference, the celebrity talked about writing “Lose You to Love Me,” which became her first number one on the Billboard 100.
She made reference to her breakup with Bieber when she said, “When I was going through a heartbreak, I immediately, you know, wrote my best music and wanted to be there for every woman or man or whoever, you know, going through that journey.”

She acknowledged that having to live apart from them had made her ‘choose herself and choose life again.’

Selena allegedly experienced a lupus-related breakdown and started mental health treatment a month after Justin wed Hailey.
Gomez talked candidly about her autoimmune disease diagnosis when she was a teenager in her most recent interview.
When I was sixteen or seventeen, I was given a lupus diagnosis. I didn’t appreciate it at all; it was a very harsh process,’ she recounted. However, fast-forward a few years when I was allowed to see a hospitalised child and they refused to look at me until I revealed that I also had lupus.
‘And that’s when I knew that happened to me because I could do that moment,’ the Wolves singer went on.
The actress stated that she does her “hardest” to use her kidney transplant experience as a way to let others who are hurting know they’re not alone.
“It’s just one day at a time, and I’m a work in progress,” she continued.
In an interview with NPR back in 2020, Gomez described herself as a “victim to certain abuse” in a previous relationship.
It has given me the strength. Maintaining a victim mindset is risky. She said, “And I’m not being disrespectful; I do feel like I was the victim of some abuse.”
The actress clarified at the time that she was speaking of emotional “abuse,” not physical.
