Ahead of her 50th birthday, Cameron Diaz appeared on the “Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers” podcast in March 2022 where she discussed aging. When asked what kind of routine she has for looking beautiful, the actress said nothing much.

“I literally do nothing. I, like, never wash my face,” said Diaz, adding she has several products that she only uses twice a month. She further explained that she is not at that place in her life where she puts her energy into how she looks.

For her, being strong is more important. Having had her first child at an older age, Diaz mentioned that she would want to be an active mom, who can runaround with her daughter.

“I want my energy to stay vital. I don’t want her to feel like she has an old mom,” said Diaz. When it comes to her daughter, the last thing she worries about is what she looks like.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani has loved experimenting with makeup since childhood. In the late 1980s, she worked for a local department store in Anaheim, California at the makeup counter.

When reflecting on the experience in a 2022 interview, the pop star said she was a “fake makeup artist” because she was never trained and did not have to report to anyone.

“I found magic in the makeup. It’s not even about how people look; it’s how they feel. Once that makeup goes on, the confidence that comes with it is what stayed with me,” the singer explained.

The businesswoman admitted that makeup is one of those topics that she could talk about all day long without getting tired. “I love glam. I never like going to the event [I’m getting glammed up for]. I’m always about the [process],” she said.

When asked how long it takes her to do a perfect red lip, she said, “I could do a perfect red lip in less than a minute.” Stefani further revealed she has never worked with a makeup artist in her career before except for once or twice.

She recalled a bad experience she had during her time as a No Doubt frontwoman. A man came and did her makeup for an artwork, and she said she looked “ugly,” afterward.

However, Stefani considers herself beautiful when she does her own makeup. She said she still cringes when she takes a look back at the images from that time. Following that experience, she has since taken it upon herself to do her own makeup.

Another country star Reba McEntire has frankly spoken up about her beauty struggles over time. In an April 2024 interview, she revealed, “I was pale, [had] lots of freckles and frizzy hair. And my girlfriends had long, black, straight, beautiful round curls.”

Instead of trying to change how she looked like, McEntire decided to embrace her appearance. However, it took a while for her to come to the realization that she was made in her own unique way and for her to accept herself.

Another actress, Salma Hayek, has preferred going au natural for quite some time. She shared her beauty secrets in a 2017 interview, revealing she never cleanses her skin in the morning.

“It’s no secret that I love dancing, so it doesn’t even feel like exercise to me. I freestyle dance with Tracy Anderson five times a week,” said Lopez.

The singer also shared that she does circuit training with David Kirsch when she is in New York. “We do hour-long circuits at least three times a week,” she explained.

Mirren further explained that growing older is part of a natural process and is inevitable. She added that with aging, comes wisdom and a level of understanding to that fact.

The veteran actress gained this perception from her beloved mother, Kathleen Alexandrina Eva Matilda Kitty Rogers, who shared powerful words with her.

“My mother said the greatest thing to me: ‘Never be afraid of getting older,'” the 78-year-old Academy Award-winning English native recalled.

“Of course, when you’re 18, middle age is like a foreign country. It’s so far away from you.” Mirren further explained the analogy, saying that once one arrives in that country, they begin to realize that it has great things to offer and start to like it better than the one left behind.

Clarkson spoke frankly about what she did to lose the weight and that includes weight-loss drugs. She finally decided to take charge of her health after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic.

The singer had the legendary actress Whoopi Goldberg on the episode then, who also revealed that she consumed the drugs to shed the weight. Goldberg admitted that the medication had been good to her.
