Kim Kardashian Is Not Selling Longtime Hidden Hills Home Despite Her Telling Sister Khloé ‘I’m Moving’

Despite recent rumors, Kim Kardashian is not planning to move out of her Hidden Hills mansion. The speculation began when the 43-year-old reality star mentioned in an Instagram Story on Monday, July 29, that she was “moving” and had only a dress or workout attire available. However, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that the SKIMS founder is merely temporarily out of her home while an extra room is being added. The source clarified that the new addition is not the controversial underground vault.

Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills mansion has been a central part of her life since she and her ex-husband, Kanye West, purchased the property for a reported $20 million in 2014. The couple, along with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt, spent three years renovating the home, transforming it into a minimalist, almost church-like structure. They finally moved into the property in December 2017, and by 2018, Kris Jenner tweeted that the house was worth $60 million.

In a June interview with PEOPLE, Kardashian expressed her deep attachment to the Hidden Hills home, saying she “can’t ever imagine moving” out. She emphasized the importance of creating lasting family memories, similar to those she cherished from her own childhood. “We’ve created such beautiful memories here already,” she said.

The mansion, designed with a nearly all-white palette, plaster walls, minimal furnishings, and soaring arched ceilings, was intentionally created with their four children in mind: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5. Kanye West described the home’s aesthetic as a “futuristic Belgian monastery” in a March 2020 cover story for Architectural Digest. He shared that the design was centered around their family, with the children using the space to ride scooters and play.

After Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, she remained in the home with their children. In her recent interview, she described her home as her “sanctuary,” a place designed to be calming and help her decompress after a busy day. “The minimalist design keeps things clean and uncluttered, which allows me to truly decompress and get away from the chaos,” she explained. She added that the serene environment helps her recharge and sparks her creativity.

As of now, Kardashian is focused on adding to her Hidden Hills home, not leaving it. The new room addition signifies her commitment to creating an even more comfortable and accommodating space for her family. While the exact details of the new addition are not specified, it’s clear that Kardashian’s intent is to enhance her home further rather than move away from it.
