Loyal fans of Khloe Kardashian have slammed her ex, Tristan Thompson, after he shared a gushing birthday tribute to the mother of his two children on Instagram.
As Khloe Kardashian celebrated her milestone 40th birthday, her ex, Tristan Thompson, posted a heartfelt tribute that left her fans both horrified and confused. The reality TV star, who shares two children, True, 6, and Tatum, 1, with the 33-year-old NBA player, received numerous affectionate messages from her famous family, including sisters Kim and Kylie, and her mother, Kris Jenner. However, it was Tristan’s Instagram post that sparked outrage among Khloe’s supporters.
Despite being caught cheating on Khloe multiple times, Tristan took to social media to praise her as ‘the best mother in the world’ and his ‘best friend,’ sharing several wholesome photos of Khloe with their children. This move has angered Khloe’s fans, who have not forgiven Tristan for his past betrayals.
In one photo, Tristan and Khloe are seen enjoying quality time with their two children during the festive season. Alongside the image, Tristan wrote: “You are my best friend.” This statement infuriated Khloe’s fans, who pointed out that if she were truly his best friend, he wouldn’t have treated her so poorly.
Tristan also shared a photo of Khloe posing with his brother Amari, who has a disability, praising her as “the most incredible human being I’ve ever met.” Khloe shared the picture on her own stories, writing: “Thank you TT! I appreciate this! I love my Amari.”
In another attempt to show his admiration, Tristan posted a sweet photo of Khloe and their daughter True, captioned: “You are the best mom.” However, Khloe’s unimpressed fans quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticize Tristan. One user fumed: “Not Tristan Thompson acting as if he’s an angel by wishing Khloe a happy birthday. He literally cheated on her when she was pregnant with his child.”
Another echoed, “Khloe might be able to forgive and forget, but that man will always be a weak cheater in my eyes. He’s deranged and so is this post.” A third added, “Tristan needs help honestly. Khloe must be so brainwashed.”
However, some social media users offered a different perspective, with one penning: “Khloe deserves to be allowed to forgive. She most likely hasn’t forgiven him, but she needed to move on for the sake of her children. Everyone deals with things differently and at a different pace. Khloe and Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan began dating in 2016 and welcomed their first child, True, in April 2018. However, Tristan was unfaithful to Khloe while she was pregnant. Despite this, they stayed together. In 2019, they broke up after Tristan was caught kissing Kylie Jenner’s ex-best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a party. They reconciled during the Covid-19 lockdown when they quarantined as a family.
By June 2021, the on-off couple had split again. A source told Us Weekly at the time that they “remain amicable toward each other and will continue to co-parent.” Later in 2021, Maralee Nichols sued Tristan for child support after giving birth to their son, who was conceived while Tristan was still with Khloe.
After a paternity test confirmed he was the father, Tristan issued an apology to Khloe. In a groveling statement, he wrote: “You don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.
