The Princess of Wales has expressed gratitude for the global support following her courageous disclosure of her cancer battle.

Charles, 75, has recorded an exclusive Easter message of hope, set to be broadcast on Maundy Thursday at Worcester Cathedral. Queen Camilla will represent The Firm at the Royal Maundy Service, distributing the Royal Maundy gifts on behalf of her husband.

Kensington Palace released a special message of gratitude as well-wishes poured in from around the globe, including from heads of state, charity leaders, and Kate’s family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not informed in advance of the Princess of Wales’ public announcement regarding her cancer diagnosis.

A spokesperson stated: “The Prince and Princess are deeply touched by the kind messages from people in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and worldwide in response to Her Royal Highness’ message. They are profoundly moved by the public’s warmth and support and appreciate the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”

At the age of 42, the Princess of Wales confirmed her cancer diagnosis

In an emotional televised statement on Friday evening, the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis at just 42 years old. The mother of three spoke about the “incredibly tough couple of months” her family has faced, describing the heartbreaking moment she and William had to consider how to break the news to their young children.

While she did not specify the type of cancer, she confirmed she began preventative chemotherapy in February. Kensington Palace reported that Kate remains positive about her recovery and is in good spirits. She reassured her children that she is “well and getting stronger every day.”

The last public sighting of the Princess of Wales, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, the Prince of Wales, and Prince Louis together was on Christmas Day

Amidst the treatment of cancer by both the head of state and the future Queen, the Royal Family faces an uncertain period. However, the monarchy is anticipated to unite in support of those central to the institution.

A royal insider stated, “The King has maintained contact with the Princess of Wales since her hospitalization in January and throughout her ongoing cancer treatment. He is fully committed to demonstrating unity within the family and reassuring the public and the wider world of the monarchy’s stability, despite the current challenging period.”

The monarch has scaled back his duties and public appearances as he undergoes weekly cancer treatment, which was disclosed after his hospitalization in January due to an enlarged prostate. In his first public statement since his cancer diagnosis last month, Charles expressed gratitude to the public for their support, stating it provided him with “the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

Kate’s widely watched video message has been hailed as a beacon of hope for those grappling with the illness. Seated outdoors on a bench against a backdrop of spring daffodils, the princess described her situation as “a tremendous shock” and disclosed that she and her 41-year-old husband, William, personally informed their children of the news, reassuring them with the words, “I am going to be ok.”

Kate underwent major abdominal surgery on January 16, which has been deemed successful. Initially, the condition was believed to be non-cancerous, as no tests had confirmed cancer prior to the operation. However, post-operative tests revealed the presence of cancer. Speculation about Kate intensified online after William abruptly withdrew from a memorial service for his godfather, the late King Constantine of Greece, at very short notice.
